This web page explains how your mobile telephone may help you, your next-of-kin and the emergency services in an emergency situation.
|
Why is my mobile phone useful? Often, the only item we carry is our mobile phone. It can be used to store next-of-kin contact details.
What situations would it be useful in? In situations such as accidents where you are either unconscious or unable to communicate with the emergency services. What do I enter into my mobile phone? · In your address book enter the word ICE as the name. · In the information area add any telephone numbers and email address of your next-of-kin. · Save the entries. What do the emergency services do? If you are unable to communicate with them they will look for identification in your possession. If they only find your mobile phone they will enter ICE and use the next-of-kin details. But I keep my phone locked? The Rotary Clubs of Grantham and Grantham Kesteven will supply a waterproof sticker to stick onto the back of your mobile telephone with next-of-kin contact details on.
